Ryan Mikita and Mike Sampson won the September edition of the Twin Lakes 2-Man Scramble Series on Sunday for their third victory in a row and fourth of the season.
The pair posted a 10-under par 60, good for a one-shot victory over Brian Smith and Ryan Stefanski at 61.
Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman finished in third place another shot behind at 62. But a long birdie putt by Kovach at the fifth turned into the lone Big Skin, and a pair of birdies at the tough fourth hole netted half of the Double Skins pot to make them the big cash winners of the day.
Smith and Stefanski took the other half of the Double Skins pot with two birdies at the par-3 second hole.
The win by Sampson and Mikita only further locks up the 2014 Championship Series Bonus Pool, but the remaining three of five places are still up for grabs. The points list update will be posted soon.
The October edition of the Twin Lakes Scramble Series will be played on Sunday, October 19th.
Also note, the Twin Lakes Course Championship date has been moved to Sunday, Sep 21 to eliminate a conflict with the Turkeyfoot Jumble.
