Canton’s Vaughn Snyder won the 36-hole Zoar Memorial Championship for the third consecutive year, this time shooting a sizzling 66-65 for a 13-under par total of 131 and a seven-shot victory. Ian Hardesty of Kent finished runner-up at 6-under par total.
The tournament was fairly tight heading into the back nine on Sunday, but from the 12th through the 17th hole, Snyder made four birdies and an eagle to close the door.
In the Senior Division, Doug Lockwood of Powell shot a 3-under par 69 on Sunday to win by two shots. Lockwood’s win ended the potential three-peat of Rob Schustrich, who finished tied for second place with Matt Edwards.
Lockwood got off to a hot start on Sunday with a front nine 33 and blew the field away for a come-from-behind win, posting the only under-par round in the Senior Division over two days.
