Boys 16-19
William Fankhasuer wins the 36-Hole NCJT Tour Championship in the Boys 16-19 Division with rounds of 70-80–150.
Round 1 was played on the Weiskopf Course and William took a four-stroke lead with a 32-38–70. He had 4 birdies and an eagle in his first round.
Round 2 was played on the Devlin Course and things got interesting when William went double, triple, double over holes 6, 7 & 8 and ended his first nine with 44 strokes. This allowed Dominik Cosic to take a one stroke lead to the final nine holes.
On the final nine William played strong and was one under through the first five holes. Dominik played the first five on the back nine in 4 over, that included an OB triple bogey on #13, to drop 4 back. But it was not over yet, on holes 15 & 16, William went 3 over with an OB on the par 3 #15 and the lead was back to one stroke with two holes to play.
On #17 Dominik had a bogey to drop two back and on the final hole William made a smart play on his second shot to hole high in the center of the green as Dominik ended up just short of the green. Dominik needed a chip-in and a three putt from William to pull off the comeback and he almost got the chip-in with a great chip to less than a foot, but William ended it in style by rolling in his 12 foot birdie putt to finish with a three stroke victory.
Dominik Cosic finished 2nd place with a 74-79–153. Thomas Coyne finished 3rd place with rounds of 77-78–155.
