Casey Schrader of The Pepper Pike Club led the field all three days in the 2018 Northern Ohio PGA Professional Championship at Chagrin Valley Country Club, August 27-29th.
Schrader went into the final round with a six stroke lead over his nearest competitors. He shot a 2-over par 73, not his best but good enough to hold off a final round charge by Mike Stone from Belmont Country Club and Jim Troy of Mt. Vernon Country Club who tied for second.
Schrader’s final score was 69-68-73=210 (-3).
Stone had the low round of the day with a 69.
Schrader, Stone and Troy will join Northern Ohio PGA Members Tony Adcock, Nick Gustin, and Craig Burrows in advancing to the 52nd edition of the PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car and OMEGA. Jaysen Hansen previously earned an exemption into that event by finishing top-20 in the 2018 PGA Professional Championship.
David Morgan, Eric Morgan, Rob Moss and Ian Miller are alternates.
The 2019 PGA Professional National Championship features a purse of $650,000, with live television coverage of all four rounds on the Golf Channel. A 312-player field of the nation’s finest PGA Professionals will assemble in Bluffton, SC, with cuts to 90 then 70 players.
