Braden Smith from Sterling, OH fired a 69-77–146 to win the 13th Annual Sand Ridge Junior Invitational (July 9-10).
Branden had 7 birdies and an eagle over his 36 holes. His only sour moments were a triple and double on the front nine of Round 2. Braden only hit 10 greens-in-regulation on the very tough course setup for round 2, but managed to only have 30 putts in route to his 77.
The low round for Round 2 was 73 by Dylan Fitchet. Dylan finished 2nd with 78-73–151. He played the 10th Hole in 6 over for two days (quad and double), which took a big bite out of his 9 birdie total for two days.
Danny Milo finish one behind Dylan with 72-80–152. Danny was -1 through 25 holes, but played his last 11 holes 8 over par.
Nick Longano was the Champion in the Boys 14-15 with 73-80–153. In round one, Nick was -2 after 10 holes and finished with 3 bogeys in the last eight holes. In round 2, Nick played the first four and the last five even par, but he played the 9 holes in the middle 8 over. Back-to-back 3 putts seemed to start bad stretch, but his strong finish kept him one stroke ahead in the end.
Robert Kimmel finished 2nd with 77-77–154. Robert played his last 10 holes one under and made a good run at catching Longano.
Conor Gdovin finished 3rd with 77-79–156.
The young Ella Wong won the Girls division with 82-89–171. Nora Nelson finished 2nd with 91-83–174. Nora played her final nine holes in 37 to gain 8 strokes on Ella, but in the end she came up 3 strokes short. Olivia Zampedro was 3rd with 88-95–183.
