On a brutally cold, wet and windy day, a pair of teams overcame the uncooperative mid-May weather better than the rest to finish joint-first at the 2016 edition of the Turkeyfoot “Spring” 2-Man Scramble. (Ha! Spring. Right.)
Kory Hull and Matt Warren used their skin-winning eagle-2 on the par-4 11th hole to grab a tie for first place with the veteran team of Howard Clendenin and John Topeka. Both teams finished at 6-under par 65.
Alone in third place just one shot behind the winning teams was Dave Sotka and Steve Blackburn Jr.. Then Dean Cutlip and Jeff Stormer followed them with a solo fourth place finish at 67.
Seven teams tied for fifth place at 3-under par 68.
Jim Cea and Ron Bell nabbed the other skin won on the day with a birdie at the always tough par-3 eighth.
