In the Sunday finale of the DAP Championship at Canterbury, Bryson DeChambeau, Nicholas Lindheim (with Northeast Ohio’s own Derek Duda on the bag!), Andres Gonzales and Julian Etulain all finished at 7-under par and headed to a four-way playoff.
DeChambeau and Gonzales (shown above) both made birdie on the first playoff hole, ousting Lindheim and Etulain.
Then DeChambeau won with a par on the second playoff hole to claim his first professional victory.

Tim Rogers, Akron Beacon Journal / Ohio.com:
LeBron James would have appreciated the drama.
The Web.com Tour’s DAP Championship, which benefits the LeBron James Family Foundation, went two extra holes before rookie sensation Bryson DeChambeau was able to win his first professional tournament on Sunday with a sudden death victory at Canterbury Golf Club.

Pat Galbincea, Plain Dealer / Cleveland.com:
Greater Cleveland golf courses have a history of launching the careers of some pretty great golfers.
Arnold Palmer won The Plain Dealer Invitational (now the Northeast Ohio Invitational) while golfing at Pine Ridge in Wickliffe during his Coast Guard days in the 1950s. And in 2006, unknown 19-year-old Jason Day earned his first professional victory by winning the Nationwide Tour’s event at StoneWater in Highland Heights.
Add the name of Bryson DeChambeau, who Sunday won the Web.com Tour’s DAP Championship at Canterbury Golf Club in a four-way playoff.
