Will Kurtz of Hudson, Ohio and Kasey Nielsen of Kent, Ohio won the 2015 Northern Ohio Junior PGA Championship presented by Under Armour and Genesis Networks on Tuesday, June, 23th at Shady Hollow Country Club in Massillon, Ohio.
By winning the boys’ and girls’ divisions respectively, Kurtz and Nielsen qualified for the 40th Junior PGA Championship presented by Under Armour and Genesis Networks, Aug. 3-6, 2015, at Miramont Country Club in Bryan/College Station, Texas.
Kurtz 16, posted a final-round 70 for a two-day total of 137 and a 5 stroke victory over Anton Krecic of Columbia Station, Ohio.
Nielsen, 18,had a final-round 74 for a two-day total of 143 and a 4-stroke victory over Elizabeth Win Sylvania, Ohio.
The Junior PGA Championship is open to one boy and one girl champion from each of the 41 PGA Sections, champions of the eight PGA Junior Series events, select national junior tournaments conducted throughout the year and special invitees who have yet not reached their 19th birthdays as of the final round of the championship.
