It was only fitting that on a day filled from start to finish with scattered thunderstorms, the leaderboard for the 10th anniversary edition of the Ungvary Memorial Jumble was scattered with tied teams.
Four teams tied for the overall tournament win at 3-under par 68: Dave Oates & Mike Simpson; David Trier & Jeff Mallette; Allen Freeman & Steve Blackburn Jr.; and Anthony Yacovazzi & Pete Skirpstas.
And all but one of the six-hole sections of the tournament was tied at the top, too — the exception being Randy Skorman and Dean Cutlip winning the alternate shot six holes outright at 1-under par.
36 teams competed in what has become one of the truly fun events of the season, an event played in remembrance of one of Northeast Ohio’s true golf champions, Joe Ungvary. Special thanks to Larry Horner, Larry Zimmerman, Dave Chapple and Joe Ungvary Jr. for their efforts in hosting the event!
