The web.com Tour’s DAP Championship hosted its Media Day at Canterbury Golf Club today, and Northeast Ohio Golf had the pleasure of participating. (Thanks for some fun competition from NOGA’s Robb Schulze and Frank Rihtar — Larry Lahnan and I battled them to a push!)
This brand new web.com Tour Playoffs event will be contested in 2016 the week after Labor Day, and it will feature the top 75 players on the web.com money list and the 75 players on the PGA Tour money list starting at position 126.
Greater Cleveland golf fans might be surprised at the list of recognizable names — and some major winners! — that could be on hand at Canterbury based on their current money list positions: Geoff Ogilvy, Angel Cabrera, Justin Leonard, Stewart Cink, Camilo Villegas, Stuart Appleby, Ian Polter, and the list goes on.
Given the World Ranking Points earned by the top guys on the web.com Tour this year, it’s fair to say that this event will feature a field as strong as many PGA Tour events held opposite the World Golf Championships! The level of golf should be spectacular.
