Class of 2024: Stark County Amateur Golf Hall of Fame

Stark County Amateur - HOFBob Moock, Dan Muller, and Dave Oates are the inductees for the Stark County Amateur Golf Hall of Fame, Class of 2024.

David Oates

Dave OatesGolf Accomplishments:
– Played high school golf at GlenOak High School
– Seven times Stark Co. Amateur Champion 1996, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007
– Won Stark County Amateur Senior Division 2023
– Five-times Summit County Amateur Champion 2003, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011
– Four-times Tiger Town Open Amateur Champion
– Three-times Ohio Open Amateur Champion
– Played three seasons on the Ohio State Golf team
– Inducted into the Ohio Publinx Hall of Fame 2017
– Golf coach for twenty-seven years at Canton Central Catholic High School – Two State Championship teams, five runner-up teams

Dave lives in Massillon, Ohio, with his wife, Kellie. They have a stepdaughter and two step-grandchildren. In addition to being the Central Catholic golf coach, Dave is the principal at Central Catholic High School. Dave has been in education since 1997.

Dan Muller

– Fairless High School four-year letterman
– All Federal League 1973, 74, 75
– SCAGA Junior Champion 1972, 1975
– Kent State University golf team four-year letterman 1975-79
– Canadian-American Invitational 1977 playing for Kent State, Medalist shooting 67,71
– Kent State won the Mid American Conference 1977 and qualified for the Division I NCAA Championship
– Won ten club championships: two at The Elms, two at Tam O’ Shanter, one at Oake Tree CC, five Senior Championships at Shady Hollow CC
– Won the SCAGA Ofer Tournament of Champions 1985
– Won the Tiger Town Open Amateur Division 1987
– Inducted into the Fairless High School Hall of Honor for golf, academics, and business accomplishments

Dan retired from the Timken Company in 2014 after thirty-five years. Today, Dan is the CEO of DEM Consulting. He resides in Massillon, Ohio with his wife, Sally. They have two children and five grandchildren.

Robert S. Moock

– Won 1997 Simpson Junior Championship at age seventeen
– Lettered three years at Glenwood High School

– Medalist Mid American Junior Open at Possum Run Golf Club 1967
– Ohio University Golf Team 1969-71
– All Mid American Conference 1970-71
– NCAA Division I Championship 1970-71
– Honorable Mention NCAA All American 1971
– Set scoring record at the Ashland Invitational 1971
– Turned pro after college and then returned to amateur status 1978
– Won multiple club championships at Little Turtle Country Club in Columbus, Ohio 1978-90
– Won Multiple club championships at The Lakes Country Club in Columbus, Ohio 1990-2010
– USGA Amateur Qualifier 1992, 1994
– USGA Mid Amateur Qualifier, advancing to the semi finals 1992
– Won The Ohio Mid Amateur at Westbrook Country Club, Mansfield, Ohio
– Won the Columbus District Amateur 1988, 1992
– Inducted into the Ohio University Athletic Hall of Fame 2011

Bob currently resides in Estero, Florida with his wife, Connie, of forty-two years.
