The City of Green is purchasing the 145.2-acre Raintree Golf Club for $3.3 million.
Green City Council voted 5-2 to buy Raintree Country Club, located at 4340 Mayfair Road, at the November 13th regular meeting. Raintree is an 18 hole public golf course with banquet facilities that opened in 1992, designed by local golf course architect Brian Huntley.
Green is purchasing the Raintree site from current owner John Rainieri, who also owns Ohio Prestwick Country Club in Green.
Green will continue to operate Raintree as a golf course, either directly or through a management contract, but also has designs on other park-like uses for the benefit of all residents.
