The 2019 Rules of Golf have changed significantly on damaged clubs and damaged golf balls.
For 2019, the USGA eliminated the rule requiring a player to announce his intent before picking up a ball to identify it.
Now that water hazards are “penalty areas”, the restrictions on removing on loose impediments and grounding your club have been changed, too.
The 2019 Rules of Golf allow for the repair of all player-caused green damaged, but not natural damage. Begin interpreting and evaluating.
To follow the Rules in 2019, a player must use the longest club in the bag (except putter) to measure the area for a drop.
