Eddie Neer closed the gap on Tom Evans and the top of the 2010 leaderboard Thursday night by taking home yet another skin, this time with a birdie on the winding signature 8th hole at Tanglewood Golf Club.
But Neer is still almost $300 shy of the man on top.
Tom Evans wasted no time extending his season-long lead on the field Thursday night on the River Course at Fowlers Mill, as he made a $138 birdie putt from over 50-feet on the first hole of the evening, the 10th!
Evans also captured the pin shot on the 17th hole worth another $84 to his total, so he is playing — and winning — at a record-setting pace in his chase for his second Thompson Cup!

Evans rolled in a 20-foot birdie putt on the difficult par-3 eighth hole at Powderhorn Golf Course to capture the only skin on the night — one that turned out to be the largest skin in the 20 year history of the game!

The race for the Thompson Cup began with 24 players competing under cold but sunny conditions, with firm greens.
