As the last group of the day was still grinding it out on the golf course in search of a win, Lucas Murray of East Sparta was sitting in the clubhouse waiting.
Starting the day tied for ninth place and five shots off the lead, Murray’s final round six-under par 65 at the Sanctuary Golf Club in North Canton was an incredible turn-around, giving him a three shot victory in the 2010 Stark County Amateur Golf Championship with a 54-hole total of even par 215.
Doug Hauenstein earned a comeback win in the resident’s division of the 2010 Portage County Amateur Golf Championships Sunday, posting an even par 71 at Aurora Country Club for a 149 total to win by a single shot over Rob Schustrich and John Oyster.
In the Open Division (non-county residents), Kevin Miller ran away from the field with a score of 144, good for an 8-shot win and the overall championship.

Windmill Lakes Golf Course, Ravenna – Par 70
Bob Sowards of Dublin posted a solid round of 2-under par 69 at Quail Hollow Golf Club on Wednesday, earning a comeback win in the 2010 Ohio Open over 36-hole leader Dennis Miller of Canfield by a single shot.
Mike Stone of Perrysburg shot a strong 8-under par 64 to win the 59th playing of the Tiger Town Open at The Elms Country Club in Massillon on Friday. Stone edged Vaughn Snyder and Ryan Gutowski by a single shot.
