Mallette and Kracker Crush the Field in the Turkeyfoot Fall 2-M Jumble

Turkeyfoot Lake Golf LinksIt was a laugher. An old-fashioned rear-end whoopin’. The mercy rule almost kicked in.

The long-time team of Mike Kracker and Dr. Jeff Mallette ran circles around the other 27 two-player teams in the field at the Turkeyfoot Golf Links’ 27-Hole Fall 2-Man Jumble, played on Sunday in Akron.

Kracker and Mallette won by a gaudy seven shots with an near flawless score of 14-under par 92:  4-under par in the better ball format; 3-under par in alternate shot; and a whopping 7-under par in the scramble format that included an eagle-birdie-birdie start.

Greater Cleveland Skins GameRob Shustrich of Windham fired an even par score of 71 to capture the 2010 Greater Cleveland Shoot-Out at Chardon Lakes Golf Club on Labor Day Monday.

Shustrich birdied the first two holes of the day and never looked back, firing even par nines of 35-36. It was Shustrich’s first Cleveland Shoot-Out victory, and the win earned him the $750 first place prize.

Turkeyfoot Lake Golf LinksRoss Beal and Tommy Li battled back and forth throughout the two-day Turkeyfoot Golf Links Course Championship in Akron this weekend.

With firm greens, tough hole locations, and a windy, rainy and chilly day on Saturday, Beal led with a first round score of 73 to Li’s 75.

ADGA Finalizes 2010 Golfer of the Year Invitations

ADGAThe field has been set for the Akron District Golf Association’s 2010 Golfer of the Year tournament, to be played on Saturday, October 2nd at Firestone Country Club’s West Course and on Sunday, October 3rd at the North Course.

FINAL RESULTS: 2010 Eastern Ohio Amateur

Malone College’s NAIA National Champion Justin Lower ran away from the field Sunday in the final round of The Eastern Ohio Amateur Championship at River Greens Golf Club in Coshocton. Lower, a senior at Malone, matched Saturday’s 27-hole score of 6-under par with an identical score of 102 to post a 12-under par 204 total.
