Stark County will once again play host to a state amateur ‘major’: the Ohio Public Golfers Association (OPGA) State Public Links Championship (better known as the Ohio Publinx) will be played at the Seven Hills Golf Course in Hartville, Ohio in 2011 and 2012.
Toledo pro Mike Stone and partner Jerred Barley crushed the field in the 2010 edition of the Pine Hills Fall 2-Man Ironman Scramble, played in Hinkley on Halloween Sunday.
No Halloween metaphor here either; Stone and Barley crushed ’em all — winning by six shots in a 2-man scramble and grabbing three of five skins made on the day.
Twenty one teams from three states teed it up at the Blonde John Fall 3-Man Scramble at Quail Hollow Country Club in Concord on Saturday, and two of those teams finished in a tie for first place at 13 under par.
