Yes, Tony Adcock won the Professional Division of The Medalist Tour’s Reggie Rucker Classic at Little Mountain on Thursday with a sterling 4-under par 66.
Yes, veteran amateur Norton Brick won the Open Senior Division for the second week in a row in a playoff over professional Mitch Adcock after both men shot even par 70.
And yes, Matt Heestand won the Amateur’s Championship Division with an even par 70 to beat Drew Thompson by two shots.
All of these guys played great golf and truly deserve a tip of the cap.
But the focus of the day clearly was on the huge three-tournament-carry-over skins pot of $5,280, and who holed out from what fairway to win all that loot. And the required hole outs happened.

A no-holds barred message was posted by CEO Mike Hastings to The Medalist Tour’s website yesterday (left-hand column, entitled “Director’s Message”), aimed at unnamed players: stop your whining.

It took a low score to win every flight at The Aurora Open on Thursday. Vaughn Snyder goes back-to-back with a second straight win on The Medalist Tour, beating Nationwide Tour pro Ryan Armour and Jake Scott in a playoff. Ross Beale shoots a 69 and wins the Amateur Championship Flight, while Norton Brick wins the Open Senior Flight with 70.
The Medalist Tour Cancels Doughton Event
The Medalist Tour has canceled its Mahoning County Classic scheduled for Thursday, June 3rd at Doughton Golf Club in Hubbard. The small number of player registrations and a golf course that might not be well suited to a professional event led to the late decision.
But on the flip side, that’s good news for the players who are competing in the next tournament…
Snyder Wins Medalist Tour’s Summit County Open in a Playoff; Crewse Low Am
After finishing in a 4-way tie at 4-under par 67, Vaughn Snyder won a playoff on the first extra hole in The Medalist Tour’s Summit County Open at Portage Country Club on Monday.
Snyder tied with Steven Lee, Eric Frishette and Tim Ailes, but only Snyder and Lee were available to participate in the playoff.
Aaron Crewse shot an even par round of 71 to win the Championship Flight in the Amateur Division by a shot over Brent Whitaker.
