Sports business writer Kevin Kleps of Crain’s Cleveland Business reports that the pro-am for the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship, which will be played on Wednesday, July 10, has sold out.
So tournament officials have added a second pro-am, to be held on Monday, July 8th.
56 foursomes will play with one member of the PGA TOUR Champions in the Wednesday pro-am. That event was sold out by the end of February, said Don Padgett III, who has been the executive director of the two Bridgestone events since 2007.
“The pro-am has been extremely well-received,” Padgett said. “The last one we had was the 1998 World Series of Golf. There’s still some of those people that, way back then, supported that, and now they’re back in a much bigger way. That’s been a lot of fun.”
