August Rounds Played Up in Greater Cleveland

The number of golf rounds played in August 2019 were up 1.7% vs the number of rounds played in August 2018 for Greater Cleveland, and year-to-date those numbers are still positive against last year’s totals.

Rainfall amounts lessened as August progressed, leading to some better golf weather as the month went on. That turned into more rounds played.

Rounds played for YTD through August are up +0.9% overall for the Greater Cleveland area vs 2018, according to the latest report from Golf Datatech.

For all of Ohio, play figures are up a healthy +5.2% for Aug-to-Aug, and up +3.2% YTD 2019 vs 2018.

Regionally, Ohio is in “East North Central”. For that region, rounds played spiked up +7.1%, and are up +3.2% for the year. So Ohio golf is doing pretty well in 2019.

Nationwide, overall rounds played were up +3.5% comparing August 2019 vs 2018, but for the year are dead flat at -0.0% year-to-year.

Our September weather has been spectacular, so the numbers should reflect that in the next report…
