The Greatest Golfer has set a pre-season record for signups in the ‘Joe’ Dickey Junior Championships, with 300 player rounds committed before the season even starts this Sunday.
The Greatest Golfer Junior Series, presented also by Youngstown Tile Retail Design Center, features 10 events from May 7 to July 20, then a skills championship, followed by a 36-hole finals July 21-22 at Avalon Lakes. Event costs range from $45-$65, and there is no seasonal membership fee. It’s Ohio and Pennsylvania’s least expensive, most competitive summer play for high schoolers.
This is the 13th season for Juniors, and over those years more than 70 high schoolers have landed in college golf after their Greatest play — including most of the YSU Men’s Golf Team.
