Looking for a reason to get out of the Northeast Ohio winter weather right after the start of the New Year? The 2nd Annual Palm Springs Golf Championships might be your ticket: a national amateur golf tournament hosted on some great West Coast courses just one week before the playing of The American Express Desert Classic on the PGA TOUR!
Here’s your chance to enjoy some warm sunny weather, play competitive tournament golf by age/skill-level division, and do so on some world-renowned courses set up for the PGA TOUR pros — grandstands and TV towers included!
The Palm Springs Golf Championships consists of both Gross and Net Divisions by age and gender, so its a fun and fair competition for any player who enters. Plus January is prime weather in Palm Springs, the heart of the desert golf season. The daily highs should be between 60 and 75 degrees.
The Gross Division players will challenge the PGA WEST Nicklaus and Norman Tournament Courses and the TPC Stadium Course. Each of these layouts will be in PGA TOUR tournament condition, being just one week before The American Express. Truly, it will be ‘play it like the pros’!
The Flighted Net Divisions will enjoy the La Quinta Resort Dunes and Mountain Courses and the Mission Hills Country Club Arnold Palmer Course, all at peak-season tournament condition.
In addition to the week-long tournament competitions, there are optional daily cash ‘Honey Pots’ and lots of great par-3 CTP prizes. There is also a Horse Race Shootout on Tuesday afternoon, a bonus team tournament that is super fun. Plus more than one champion is recognized at the end of the big event — the name Palm Springs Golf Championships is plural for a reason. Trophies are awarded to each flight’s first, second and third place finishers.
Monday night kicks off with the Horse Race Pairings Party at the Santa Rosa Ranch 19th Hole. Come enjoy this impressive 2-acre hospitality location while enjoy drinks on the spectacular outdoor patio area. You’ll get to know the other golfers in the tournament from across the country, and take part in some fun golf challenges.
At the end of tournament week, the awards dinner will be served up by Uncorked Cuisine, one of the Coachella Valley’s best catering companies. You won’t want to miss tasting their amazing dishes while each of the top finishers is recognized for his or her great play.
Entry fee options are available for golf-only or stay-and-play, and are surprisingly affordable — starting at just $750 per player! Plus for 2020, players who have never competed in the Palm Springs Golf Championships get a special NEOHgolf.com “Welcome to the Tournament” $100 discount!
