The Elyria Open

Elyria Country ClubA brand-new one-day, 18-hole stroke play tournament open to both professionals and amateurs will play its inaugural event at Elyria Country Club on Thursday, October 15th.

The Elyria Open, benefiting the Hotsey Caddie Scholarship Foundation, will offer a first place prize of $3,000 out of a $10,000 total purse for the Professional Division, based on a full field. In the Amateur Division, players will compete for a winner’s share of $750 out of $2,500 total in merchandise.

The event is being conducted by ECC Assistant Jake Scott, NOPGA and ECC Board Member and current club champion Chris Horne.

“We wanted to run a top-level professional event at Elyria Country Club to give the players of Northern Ohio a chance to compete at our wonderful facility”, said Scott.

Added Horne, “It’s an opportunity to show off the beauty of our golf course and how it can be a challenging test without being 7,000+ yards.”
