$250 bucks for 2019. That’s all it costs to play as much golf as you’d like — on any day you’d like for an entire year — at four Cleveland-west golf courses:
– Mallard Creek Golf Club in Columbia Station;
– Pine Brook Golf Club in Grafton;
– Dragon Ranch Golf Club in Elyria; and
– Briarwood Golf Club in Broadview Heights.
How is this possible? Through the Fairways Golf Membership, which is available now in a limited number.
SOUND UNBELIEVABLY INEXPENSIVE? IT IS
If you play just once-a-week during the prime golf months of April through September, getting a 2019 Fairways Golf Membership breaks out to $9.62 per round.
C’mon. That’s crazy cheap. And it gets even better at more than once-a-week.
Play three times per week from April through September, and the cost becomes an absurd $3.21 per round.
Or play each of the four membership courses once per week from April through September, and it nets out to pocket change: $2.40 per round.
And remember, a “round” is as many holes as you want — go for 36 every day if you’d like!
GET A MEMBERSHIP BEFORE THEY SELL OUT
For the last several years, Fairways Golf has sold out its allotted number of memberships for the season. They intentionally limit the number of memberships to keep play accessible for non-members, and they usually reach that “sold-out” point just after the first of the year.
So to ensure Northeast Ohio Golf readers the chance to take advantage of this offer for 2019, they have allowed us to promote their program now, starting in early November, before FGM’s other marketing kicks in.
The online membership registration site is now open to our readers before the typical holiday rush. So take advantage of it!
A LOOK AT THE FOUR GOLF COURSES
The four golf courses available to players through the Fairways Golf Membership are all quality layouts built for enjoyable golf. They’re not 7,600 yard brutes with a bunch of forced carries where you lose a half-dozen balls every time you play. Instead, these are fun, playable layouts that challenge instead of overwhelm. Reasonable green speeds. Manageable rough. Fair shot values.
Mallard Creek Golf Club
Mallard Creek Golf Club is a sweeping 36-hole public golf course set on 350 acres of gently rolling terrain. The expansive site is lush and green as far as the eye can see, with trees and lakes dotting the property. The course is between Strongsville and Elyria, on the north side of route 82 in Columbia Station.
Pine Brook Golf Club
Pine Brook Golf Club in Grafton is the kind of course that suits any level of player. The course boasts a challenging yet accommodating par-70 layout, and is well maintained. Many improvements have been made to the property over the last few seasons, ever since Pine Brook became a Fairways Golf property back in 2014.
Dragon Ranch Golf Club
Dragon Ranch Golf Club in Elyria is a property on the rise. First opened in 1960 as the 9-hole Midway Golf Course, a second nine was added in the 1970s and renamed Deer Track. In 2005, local auto magnate Ed Mullinax purchased the property and made many upgrades, eventually renaming it Dragon Ranch. Fairways Golf took over last year and now the 18-hole, 6,352 yard par-70 layout is being groomed to become a top west-side golf facility.
Briarwood Golf Club
Briarwood Golf Club in Broadview Heights is centrally located between I-77 and I-71 and just 15 minutes from downtown Cleveland. The par-72 layout features rolling terrain through trees and creeks, creating a challenging but fair test for all levels of golfers. Play it from the back tees and it’s championship-level. Move up a tee box or two and it’s a fun round, but still with some hazards to avoid.
