A sampling of DAP Championship game stories from Saturday’s third round at Canterbury Golf Club:

On a day where nine different players held the DAP Championship lead at points throughout the third round, Bryson DeChambeau emerged the leader by one shot over Zach Sucher when play concluded Saturday afternoon.
DeChambeau entered the day tied with four others for the 36-hole lead but broke away from the group with a 2-under 68, which tied the best of the day, to sign for an 8-under 202 three-day total.

Rory Sabbatini had it for a while.
So, too, did Stuart Appleby, Whee Kim, Bryson DeChambeau, Scott Harrington, Cameron Percy, D.A. Points and Henrik Norlander. For a while it seemed like everyone in the field had a shot at it.
At the end of the third day of the DAP Championship, however, the big winner might have been stoic, old Canterbury Golf Club. Or, emerging star DeChambeau.

Fans viewing the third round leaderboard Saturday at the Web.com Tour’s DAP Championship at Canterbury Golf Club saw a shuffling of names every few minutes.
High wind conditions — gusts exceeded 25 miles per hour — coupled with wet fairways, deep and gnarly rough, and lift clean and place rules had leaderboard names changing as often as recent Dow Jones Average stock market rates. Nine different names perched the top of the board.

On the tournament business side, Kevin Kleps of Crain’s Cleveland Business posted an article yesterday noting that Ohio now hosts two of the four Web.com Tour Finals events:
“We’ve got two Web.com Finals events in Ohio, two hours apart,” said Jon Wagner, whose Westlake-based Milestone Sports Management operates the DAP Championship. “It’s not anything that anyone really focuses on or really talks about, but that storyline is neat.”
