A birdie on the 18th made all the difference.
The team of Shayne Bishop and Ken Koprivec made the birdie they needed on the final hole of the better ball competition to win Week 8 of the Chippewa Scratch League.
That birdie pushed them to four-under par for the nine holes, and gave them a one shot victory on the evening over Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman.
The win also padded Bishop’s lead in the 2016 Scratch League standings, and pushed Koprivec into second position at the midway point of the year.
Three teams won skins on a perfect evening to play golf, and none of those skin winners were by teams who finished in the top 3 places on the evening. So the wealth was spread around.
NOTE there is no Scratch League next week, as the upcoming Monday is the July 4th holiday. There will also be no early skins game at Chippewa the following Monday, July 11th, as there is an outing scheduled; but watch NEOHgolf.com for info on a different early-game site…
