Shane Bishop jumped to the top of the 2015 Chippewa Scratch League Leaderboard after pairing with Sam Spino Jr. to take the Week 6 title.
Dodging lightning bolts and down pours, Bishop and Spino posted 4-under par 66 in the combined score shamble format (best tee shot selected, both players score their own ball from there) to win by one shot over Blake Doty and Steve Bednar.
Bishop normally partners with Ed Diebold, who was out of town. Diebold’s absence means he now sits in second position on the Leaderboard.
Doty and Bednar are tied for third place on the year.
Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman nabbed one of two skins on the evening with double-birdies on the seventh hole to jump up to T5 for the season-long race.
Dave Petracca and Bernie Chupek nabbed the other skin on the night with a double-birdie on the par-3 sixth.
Hopefully the weather will be more cooperative in the weeks ahead and even bigger turnouts will follow, as thus far Mondays in 2015 have been stormy and rainy…
