A major downpour right at 4:30p kept the field size small at the June 8th playing of the Chippewa Monday Scratch League, but by 5p the rain had stopped and it turned into a beautiful evening after that.
12 teams took to Chippewa’s back nine for a better ball competition on Week 5.
Senior player Jeff Dean and his partner Jim Hockwalt held off the field for the victory, posting a score of 2-under par 34.
They nipped Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman by one shot, when that pair helped the winners by making double-bogey six on the par-4 14th hole.
Hockwalt and Dean also grabbed one of three skins earned on the evening, making them the night’s big winners. But Ed Diebold and Shayne Bishop still maintain the top spot on the 2015 League Leaderboard…
