Sam Spino and Dave Oates took the top spot in Week 16 of the Chippewa Scratch League, posting a solid 6-under par score of 30 on the back nine in the scramble format. Their effort was good for a two shot victory over three teams.
But the season-long leaders dipped their fingers into both pots, increasing the gap headed into the final month of the 2015 season.
Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman nabbed half the skins pot with an eagle 3 on the par-5 11th hole, splitting the skins with Jeff Dean and Jim Hockwalt who birdied 16. Their skin and a tie for second place padded the lead over Mike Simpson to $262, followed by Jim Krivanek after that…
Next week is Labor Day Monday, so no league competition will be held. But the annual holiday $100 Big Skins Game ($150 for pros) will be played at Chippewa on Monday, with tee times secured from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. (so be on time!).
