Just as it looked like the season-long Leaderboard was turning into a runaway, Mike Simpson and Jim Krivanek made a bold statement in Week 15 that says otherwise.
Simpson and Krivanek routed the field Monday in the Chippewa Scratch League, posting a scorching 4-under par 66 in the shamble aggregate score format (both players tee off, pick the best shot then play in from there individually for a combined score) to win by three.
Simpson and Krivanek also grabbed two of the three skins won on the night, making double-birdies on the first and sixth holes. The sixth hole skin was nearly an ace by Krivanek, who hung it on the lip after lightly touching the flagstick with his tee shot.
Only $185 now separates Simpson from leaders Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman, with Krivanek another $100 back of that…
