The Monday event after the Chippewa Championship traditionally is played under scramble format to ease everyone back into two-man competition again. This year followed that same formula, with a tie at the top and one team scooping up the entire skins pot.
Dr. Jeff Mallette and Mike Kracker posted a 5-under par 31 early in the evening, and that score was tied by Allen Freeman and Ty Kovach playing in the final group of the night. Freeman and Kovach tied for first last week as well.
But the big winners on the evening were the team of Rick Bryson and Ryan Maxwell, as they were the only twosome to eagle the short par-5 11th hole, grabbing the entire skins pot after all other holes were tied off.
With just a couple weeks of play remaining, Chippewa Scratch Money List Leaders Mike Simpson and Jim Krivanek have an insurmountable lead unless something truly bizarre occurs.
Players are reminded that no league event will be played on Monday, September 1st due to the Labor Day holiday. League play will resume on Monday, September 8th.
