The team of Mike Simpson and Jim Krivanec continued their solid play in the 2014 Chippewa Scratch League season, winning the Week 12 edition in the aggregate score format on the back nine at Chippewa with an even-par 72.
A bit of wind, some chilly air, and firm greens kept the scores in check and the even par combination was good for a one shot victory.
Simpson and Krivanec also nabbed a skin at the final hole with a birdie/par that sealed the victory, too.
Randy Skorman and partner Kevin Sloan made a great run at the win, but missed a few opportunities to go truly low. Both players birdied #10 for a skin, but then Sloan made a 3-putt par on #11, and after chipping in for birdie (and a skin) on #15, Skorman finished bogey-bogey.
Simpson and Krivanec are well ahead in the now-updated 2014 League Standings, but there are still four weeks left in the season.
Also a reminder, next week is Steak and Cash night…
