2013 SEASON PREVIEW: Stark County Amateur Golf Association

Dustin Alcorn, SCAGA Tournament DirectorI am proud to announce that the Stark County Amateur Golf Association (SCAGA) is under new leadership as of this year!

The 2013 officers consist of myself (Dustin Alcorn, Tournament Director, left), Blake Doty (Treasurer), Dave Oates (Scoring and Rules), Dan Cole (Web Design/Marketing), and Jeff Barbas (Committee).

SCAGA aims to provide a fun competitive golfing tournament series in Stark County and bring people from surrounding counties to Stark County to play golf on courses they may not normally visit. Ultimately, SCAGA’s goal is to attract and retain new clients for the courses of Stark County and build the revenue generated by golfing, dining and shopping at the golf clubs.

Stark County Amateur Golf AssociationWith that being said, SCAGA has totally revamped the website! As everyone saw, we did lose our domain scaga.com. But that didn’t hold us up. If anything it was a blessing. It allowed us to completely do away with the old raggedy out of date website and completely re-do everything. You can visit the new site at SCAGAgolf.org. On the website you will be able to see news, register for events, even pay online through paypal for the event registering for.

If anyone wants to volunteer to help out at events, people can volunteer.

Also, people and/or companies who want to get exposure for their businesses can sign up to be a sponsor(s) for SCAGA. The process is very easy and in the sponsor letter it outlines everything said sponsor would receive.

For those who still want to pay the morning of the event, you will still be able to do so: we are working on getting a card reader to use on a smartphone through our paypal account. So forms of payment for events would be: 1) pay online through paypal when you register for event 2) Pay with cash morning of event or 3) use credit or debit card morning of event.

Our tournaments will be $75 each, which includes tournament entry fee and greens fee. An optional skins game is $20, played in classes.

The Stark County Amateur will be $120 plus the optional skins game for each day.

Lastly, I am just excited to be a part of this organization and cannot wait to get the season started and running. If anyone has any questions please feel free to visit our website at www.scagagolf.org, email me at dalcorn@scagagolf.org, or text/call me at (330) 224-1146.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday April 20th for the first event of 2013!
