Chris Okeson and Rob Shustrich took the top spot in Week 6 of the Chippewa Scratch League, posting a 1-over par total score of 71 in aggregate score format (individual stroke play scores combined) on the front nine on Monday.
The pair edged out Chris Helany and Dennis Berkheimer by a single shot.
With calm conditions and soft greens, no team really took advantage of the scoring opportunities.
But Nate Petry and John Kabasky dipped their fingers into the skins pot with a crazy par/birdie on the 9th hole, to build on their weekly cash-ins. Petry tried to cut the corner of the dogleg by going over the trees left and hit the pine tree right next to the tee. But his 260-yard second shot finished just behind the hole, and from there he made the putt. It’s been one of those years for this twosome…
