On what seemed to be a quiet afternoon at Chippewa, Sam Spino and Dave Oates played a solid round of aggregate score golf to win Week 12 of the Monday Scratch League.
They won by two shots over Jon Clark and Quinn Parker. But in reality, three late-round bogeys by the pair kept the festivities from being a complete rout.
With only 18 teams competing after the finish of the Summit County Am the day before, Spino and Oates still had no problem taking over the 2013 Money List lead. Their first place finish and a one-fifth skin winner bumped them up just enough to lead by more than $100 over the previous season-long money leaders, John Kabasky and Nate Petry.
With six more weeks to go in the 2013 season, which team will mount a charge to stop a repeat win by the 2012 champs Oates and Spino?
