A giant skins pot was split between two teams at the Chippewa Scratch League on Monday.
One team did it with a pair of eagles, the other with a pair of well-earned birdies.
Chuck DeRemer and Mike Simpson earned the victory on the evening with a solid 4-under par score of 32 in the better ball format on a back nine, which featured some incredibly tough hole locations.
But the focus of the evening was the big carry-over skins pot.
Dr. Jeff Mallette and Mike Kracker made eagles on holes 10, 11 and 15 on their way to winning two skins on evening, while Drew Thompson and Russ Rybka nabbed two skins with birdies on the always difficult 14th and 16th holes.
Each team’s haul was good for $530, moving all four players into the top 10 on the 2012 League Standings.
The Monday Night Scratch League will continue play next week without a break for July 4th, since the holiday is mid-week. But the 11:30 a.m. big skins game will be played elsewhere for the next two weeks because of Monday outings, on July 9th and 16th.
