It was extremely windy, the hole locations were tough, and scoring should have been a bit high for the evening.
Tell that to Rick Bryson and Ryan Maxwell.
The pair shot a spectacular 7-under par score of 28 in the scramble format at Chippewa on Monday, and edged ever closer to the top spot on the 2012 Standings List.
Leader Dave Oates and Sam Spino posted 5-under par early and that seemed to be the score to beat for most of the evening; it looked like Oates would increase his season lead. But Bryson and Maxwell performed in one of the last groups of the evening, closing the gap to just over $51 in the race.
There were no skins won on the evening, so a carry-over will take place for next week’s play. There will be no ‘off-day’ for July 4th this year, as the holiday falls mid-week. So come prepared to play for a big skins pot on Monday, July 2nd, as league (and the early skins game) continues…
