The Ohio Golf Association’s 2011 slate of courses for the Ohio Amateur Championship and the Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship give Northeast Ohio golfers the chance to play some of the best private clubs in the area.
The 72-hole Ohio Amateur will be played at the nationally-ranked NCR Country Club in Dayton on July 12 – 15th. But to get there, local players have a choice of two high-quality qualifying sites, both contested on May 31st: the Mayfield Sand Ridge Club in Cleveland (formerly Mayfield Country Club); or the Brookside Country Club in Canton, a true Donald Ross gem. (Players who live out west can play Maumee Bay State Park Golf Course on May 23rd as a qualifier option, too.)
Later in the summer, the OGA will run its Ohio Mid-Amateur for players 25 years of age and up at the challenging Barrington Golf Club in Aurora, on June 14 – 15th (practice round June 13).
Finally, late summer, the OGA Senior Am will be played at Findlay Country Club on August 9 – 10th (practice round August 8).
For entry details to all its events, see the OGA website.
