In the always challenging aggregate team score format (combined scores from both players), Rick Bryson and partner Ryan Maxwell put together a solid 3-under par score of 69 on the back nine at Chippewa to nip Jim Cea and Dave Pulk by a single shot.
With the win, Maxwell moves into second place on the 2011 Monday League Standings, while Jim Cea moves into third place courtesy of two skins and the second place finish.
The gap between first place and seventh place on the money list is a mere $50, so expect some jockeying between now and the end of the season!
Opinion: Not to take anything away from the senior players last Monday, but the league must give more attention to the distance advantage between the back and ‘senior’ tees for league, especially when playing the back nine. Holes 12, 15 and 16 had significant yardage differences, making two different golf courses for one ‘scratch’ field. At the very least, the tee markers should be on the same box, front and back… –AF
