Except for a few slight changes, the hole locations were left in the ‘Championship’ locations for Monday’s back-nine scramble in the Chippewa Scratch League.
Sure, a couple of them were eased slightly and the tees at 18 were moved up to their normal tee box, but the greens were still very firm and fast, and much of the setup still had putts falling away to nowhere.
But that didn’t stop the Mike Simpson / Jim Krivanek train.
Simpson and Krivanek posted an amazing 7-under par score of 29 in the scramble format to win by a whopping three shots over two teams. (In a scramble, each shot is like dog years.)
The pair also nabbed the only skin of the evening with an eagle on the par-5 11th hole.
The double-dip sent them into the top 10 on the 2011 League Standings list, only bunching the field further…
