Jim Cea and Mark Thomas each grabbed a first place finish with a partner at last Saturday’s ADGA 2-M Better Ball; Cea as a senior, Thomas in the main event. And both men continued their winning ways — each with a new partner! — in the first week of the 2011 edition of the Chippewa Monday Scratch League.
In a scramble format on the front nine at Chippewa, Jim Cea teamed with Dave Pulk — and used the new ‘seniors on the white tees’ rule — to tie for first place at 5-under par with Mark Thomas and partner Denny Morena.
Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman jumped on the leaderboard by winning a team eagle on the par-5 third hole worth a tidy $540.
But the 2011 leaderboard won’t be available until the fourth week of play, after all teams have paid and the Gift Certificate amounts can be determined. So get your yearly fees paid to Eric!
