The Open Championship at Royal Troon was won by Xander Schauffele, but the winner of the Northern Ohio Golf Fantasy Series final major of the year did so without picking him as the Champion Golfer of the Year.
Allen Freeman picked five of the top-10 finishers at Troon, and was the only team captain who finished under par at -6. Freeman selected Billy Horschel, Shane Lowry, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, Adam Scott, Alexander Noren, Mackenzie Hughes and Padraig Harrington as his top-8 players.
Scott Saari finished in second place at even par, while Dana Addis‘ 8-best players came in at +1 to nab third.
Payouts were $195, $117, and $78 for first through third place.
The next event on the Northern Ohio Golf Fantasy Series schedule is the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta starting August 29th.
