The 2024 Women’s Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship at Manakiki enjoyed a warm summer day and golfers evaded incoming storms. A total of 28 golfers from around the state of Ohio competed for the annual championship.
Sabrina Coffman, a former Cleveland State Golfer who won the Horizon League Individual Championship and was conference Golfer of the Year in 2023, shot 2-under par on the par 72 Donald Ross design to win this year’s championship. Sabrina had an impressive streak of four birdies on the front nine, followed by a birdie and eagle on the back nine.
Lizzie Saur, a Youngstown State golfer, earned a second-place finish thanks to a 4-under par score on her back nine.
A tie for third place among three ladies concluded the podium finishers, which included Wendy Shick, Mandy Ruminski, and Christina Nagy. The Senior Division champion was awarded to Wendy Shick with 79.
