RD3 RESULTS: 101st Women’s Ohio State Amateur Championship

On Wednesday, July 24th, the Northern Ohio Golf Association and the Women’s Ohio State Golf Association held round three of the Ohio Women’s State Amateur Championship at Belmont Hills Country Club. Day three saw the completion of the Mid-Am Division and two rounds of match play in the Championship Division.

Allison Gonring took care of business on day three of the competition, winning the Mid-Am Division by 54 strokes. She finished her tournament at 234 (+18). The highlight of Gonring’s final round was the par-5 12th, where she made an eagle. This is Gonring’s second time winning the Mid-Am title.

Kylee Heidemann upset 3 seed Sabrina Coffman in the round of 16.

The Championship Division Round of 16 only saw two notable upsets: 18-seed Kylee Heidemann defeated 3-seed Sabrina Coffman 2&1, and 27-seed Gracyn Vidovic defeated 22-seed Saylor Wharff 2 up. The rest of the top seeds continued their runs into the afternoon round Quarterfinals.

Play in the Quarterfinals was suspended before all matches concluded. Gabby Woods, Anna Ritter, Kylee Heidermann, Cara Heisterkamp, and Maddi Shoults all won their Quarterfinal matches and will move on to the Semifinals tomorrow. The third round will resume tomorrow morning, and the semifinals will begin upon completion.
