Northern Ireland is home to two of the Top 15 golf courses in the world: Royal Portrush and Royal County Down – and both courses are part of the 2025 NOGA Travel itinerary through Sullivan Golf Travel.
Royal Portrush has 36 holes, and its Dunluce Links course is one of the best courses in the world, having been ranked highly many times by Golf World, Golf Magazine, and Golf Digest. Portrush has hosted The Open Championship twice: in 1951, won by Max Faulkner; and in 2019, won by Shane Lowry.
In fact, the Open Championship returns to Royal Portrush again in 2025 – just months before NOGA Travel makes its visit!
Royal County Down has hosted many big championships since 1893: the Walker Cup (2007), the Curtis Cup (1968), the Amateur Championship (1970, 1999), the Home Internationals (3 times), the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship (9 times), the Irish Open Amateur Championship (15 times) and The Senior Open Championship (2000–2002).
In addition to its world-class golf, Northern Ireland is known for its Whiskey Distillery tours and its excellent pubs and restaurants. The drive along the Antrim Coastal Route has been called one of the five best drives in the world because of its spectacular scenery: Dunluce Castle, the Giants Causeway, and Carrick-a-Rede Rope-Bridge, all seen in a half-day tour.
