Shaker Heights’ Andrew Bailey wins back-to-back
Shooting a bogey-free 6-under par 66 in the final round at Sylvania Country Club, Shaker Heights’ Andrew Bailey is now the 11th player in Ohio Amateur Championship history to win the title in back-to-back years.
Bailey edged third-round leader and 2021 Northeast Ohio Amateur champion Tyler Goecke of Xenia by a single stroke when Goecke made bogey on the 72nd hole.
The 19-under par total of 269 shot by Bailey at Sylvania matches the Ohio Am tournament scoring record.
First- and second-round co-leader Darin Hudak of Tallmadge finished tied for third place amongst a large group at 275.
