Cleveland Metroparks GolfThe Cleveland Metroparks today announced Damian Cosby, PGA, as its new Director of Golf Operations.

In his role, Cosby will oversee Cleveland Metroparks eight golf courses, including clubhouse operations, golf programs and course maintenance.

Cosby brings over two decades of golf experience and is a Class A PGA Professional. Most recently, Cosby served as Chief of Golf Operations & Park Maintenance for Anne Arundel County in Maryland, where he oversaw two golf courses and 140 county parks.

“We’re excited to welcome Damian to lead our golf division that has been an essential part of Cleveland Metroparks since Little Met was built in 1924,” said Brian M. Zimmerman, Cleveland Metroparks CEO. “Damian brings over two decades of experience in golf and park management and will be an asset as we continue to offer accessible, high-quality golf experiences for all.”

The news follows a record-breaking year for Cleveland Metroparks golf courses last year. Total golf rounds were up over 32% year-over-year as the pandemic and course renovations drew new and returning golfers. Last year renovations were completed on the last nine holes of the 27-hole Seneca Golf Course leading to a 54% increase in golf rounds at the course over 2019.

“I’m thrilled to join Cleveland Metroparks team and be part of the long history of golf and recreation across the Emerald Necklace,” said Cosby. “I look forward to building upon the unique strengths of all eight of Cleveland Metroparks diverse golf courses and offer high-quality play for the community and beyond.”

Cleveland Metroparks offers eight courses conveniently located throughout Cuyahoga County, including Manakiki and Sleepy Hollow, two of Golfweek’s top five public courses in Ohio.
