EVENT FORMATS RULES
SCRAMBLE
Both players hit from the tee and the better shot is selected. If the selected shot is in the fairway, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed for the next shot, which may be hit in any order. If that shot is in the rough or a penalty area, the player whose ball is selected must hit first as it lies, and the second player must drop from knee height within one club length in the same cut no nearer the hole. If the selected ball is in a sand bunker, the player whose ball is chosen must hit first as it lies, and the second player must rake and place in the same spot. For putting, the selected shot must be played from the exact spot where the selected ball came to rest. Play continues until the ball is holed for a team score.
BETTER BALL
Competitors play their own ball and the better score between the two competitors is used as the team score. Unless summer rules are clearly stated in advance, play is under lift, clean and place within one club length only in the fairway of the hole being played; the ball should always be played down in the rough, bunkers, penalty areas, etc.
SHAMBLE
Both players hit from the tee and the better shot is selected on all holes, including par-3s. If the selected shot is in the fairway or on the green, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed for the next shot, which may be hit in any order. If the selected first shot is in the rough, the player whose ball is selected must hit first as it lies, and the second player must drop from knee height within one club length in the same cut of grass no nearer the hole. From that spot, both players complete the hole playing their own ball, and the total of the two scores is added together to make up the team score. Unless summer rules are clearly stated in advance, play is under lift, clean and place within one club length only in the fairway of the hole being played; the ball should always be played down in the rough, bunkers, penalty areas, etc.
AGGREGATE SCORE
Competitors play their own ball and the total score from both competitors is used as the team score. Unless summer rules are clearly stated in advance, play is under lift, clean and place within one club length only in the fairway of the hole being played; the ball should always be played down in the rough, bunkers, penalty areas, etc.
TRUE ALTERNATE SHOT
The team decides which of the two players hits the first shot on the first tee, then those players alternate hitting the same ball until that ball is holed. After a player holes a putt, the other player on the team must hit the first shot from the next tee, in a true alternating format. Unless summer rules are clearly stated in advance, play is under lift, clean and place within one club length only in the fairway of the hole being played; the ball should always be played down in the rough, bunkers, penalty areas, etc.
PRIZES AND SKINS
Weekly Event Prizes
The total tournament prize pot collected each week is split 1st 50% / 2nd 30% / 3rd 20%, with all ties splitting those amounts.
SKINS
Big skins rules, with the total skins pot divided by the number of skins won in the session. If no skin is won outright during a session, that week’s skins pot carries over to the following week. New teams are permitted to compete for the carry-over skins pot, but only after paying the skins fee for the previously missed week(s). That process is followed until the carry-over skins pot is won.
