NEWS & NOTES:

- Dana Addis came out on top in 2024's first NOGA PGA TOUR Fantasy Series event at Kapalua, picking a team that edged Reed Rusnak by a single stroke;

- Chagrin Falls businessman Scott Pollock and The Golf Dome's Matt Creech will assume operation of The Tanglewood Club, planning significant investments for the course and clubhouse;

- Matt Duffy returns to NOGA after a stint working at the USGA, to serve as Manager of GHIN and Course Rating;

- The USGA has announced that updates to the World Handicap System™ are now in effect throughout the United States, including changes to the treatment of 9-hole scores, postings for scores of more than 9 but less than 18 holes, and par-3/short courses now being eligible for Course Rating;

- Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links in Akron has temporarily closed the course while they make significant renovations to the clubhouse for the 2024 season;

- St. Ignatius' Joseph Maloof and his story of 3-aces-in-a-day at Lakewood CC became a year-end "Barky Awards" winner by golf writer Gary VanSickle;

- Read the story of Herman Densmore Shute, Northern Ohio's quiet 3-time major winner who was born in Cleveland, died in Akron, and had a remarkable Hall of Fame golf career in between;
